WTHS Indoor Guard Accomplishments (Weekend of March 23, 2019)

On Saturday, March 23, 2019, the WTHS Indoor Winds Ensemble, Dance Ensemble and Indoor Guard performed at the Pemberton TIA Competition.

The Indoor Winds Ensemble performed for the second time this season in “A” Class Winds Competition and came in 1st Place. They scored a 72.05 and as of Week 10 in TIA competition, the WTHS Indoor Winds Ensemble is the #4 ranked Scholastic A Winds group in the entire circuit.

The Dance Ensemble also performed for the third time this season in Open Class Dance Competition and scored a 79.2.  They came in 1st Place and, as of Week 10 in TIA competition, the WTHS Dance Ensemble is the #2 ranked Scholastic Open Class Dance Team the entire circuit.

The Indoor Guard performed for the 7th time this season in “A” class Competition and scored a season high 82.25.   They came in 1st Place and, as of Week 10 in TIA competition, the WTHS Indoor Guard is the #2 ranked Scholastic A Guard in the entire circuit.

The WTHS Indoor Winds Ensemble show is entitled, “Africa” and is based off of the Robert W. Smith composition, “Africa: Song, Ceremony and Ritual”.  The Indoor Winds Ensemble is led by Drum Major Casey Cox, Assistant Drum Major Aaron Pou, Drum Captain Trent Moore, Horn Captains Terrence Meekins and Carissa Fleenor and Pit Captains Jyair Washington, Dalyne Chea, and Michelle An.  The Ensemble consists of 74 performers.

The WTHS Dance Ensemble show is entitled, “The Rise After the Fall” and is based on music by the group, Sleeping At Last.  The Dance Ensemble is led by Captains Dana Brooks and Tatiana Davila.  The Ensemble consists of 17 performers.

The WTHS Indoor Guard show is entitled, “From Within” and is based on the movie, “The Color Purple”.  The Indoor Guard is led by Guard Captains Dana Brooks and Tatiana Davila and consists of Aaliyah Bassirou, Gabby Stewart, Cassandra Todd, Kaylee Pou, Kaitlyn Maccaroni, Bryanna Andrews, Tori Brooks, Kimorah Rogan, Alyssa Goldsboro, Ameenah Holcomb, Naomi Ibidapo.
